CBS News Face the Nation: Author Daniel Pink appears on the CBS News show “Face the Nation” to talk about exiting the pandemic and writing a new story on the American workforce. Pink says that the pandemic has ignited a renewed focus on the dignity of work. This new focus means increased wages, safer work conditions, and opportunities for employees to grow at their jobs. Some companies are beginning to boost wages to recruit new employees. Other businesses offer subsidized daycare to attract the four million women who dropped out of the workforce during the Coronavirus pandemic. Pink also hopes an equitable workplace will provide more significant opportunities for entrepreneurial workers navigating their careers. He’s promoting more time away from the desk, restaurant floor, and warehouse to increase worker happiness and productivity.
